Imagine going to a low class segregated school, no matter how smart you may be, you will always be ranked. Imagine being surrounded by a city full of crime and poverty and constantly being judged because of where you live. In the book Amazing Grace, Jonathan Kozol interviews children from Mott Haven and other lower-class towns in upstate New York. Some children in the community are highly educated; however, some of those who gain such knowledge lack confidence in a poor environment. How can one survive such chaos and continue to be successful? Having faith, motivation and positive people in your life can really make a difference in your outcomes.
