Transition in the European Union: UkraineAfter Ukraine's independence from the Soviet Union, Ukraine found itself in a difficult position in the world. Ukraine is geographically located between the giant Russian Federation and the European Union. After Ukrainian citizens voted to gain independence from the USSR in 1991, the new Ukrainian government chose to take a structured distance from Russia. They also attempted to join the European Union and NATO. So far, for reasons of internal politics and geopolitical complications, this objective has not been achieved. Provide security and financial support for military modernization and structurally support the justice system, and through such integration ensure every citizen has the same rights and freedom of speech that Russia fails to provide. Furthermore, it will bring to Ukraine high standards of human rights and future infrastructure development and, as mentioned above, foreign direct investment in the Ukrainian economy..
