Many people have become and are shaped by their country, their beliefs and their values. Zia is a Pakistani international student who is studying to enter the civil service in Pakistan. His ultimate goal is to teach political philosophy. Because he is from Pakistan, he has certain beliefs and values that are different from those of Americans, which shape his behavior and interactions with others, but I will not talk about the person who is in Pakistan. No, I will write about the person Zia is here at Concordia College-Moorhead and the impact he has had on those around him. Every person interviewed has known him since at least the second week he was here at Concordia, and for real I will show you Zia's character here at Concordia I will show you what the interviewees told me. Alex Cyusa says Zia is: down to earth, confident, willing to share, loves his culture, knowledgeable, motivated, thirsty for knowledge, someone who listens, vocal, passionate, curious, somewhat open-minded, patriarchal, reserved, philosophical and has maturity. There had already been a lot of talk about Zia in an interview. It was difficult for me to interpret the next two interviews because they didn't give very direct answers. I also don't read between the lines well. Taswar says Zia: doesn't like Hollywood movies much, likes Bollywood movies (movies from India), competitive but in a fun way, normal guy, interacts like you should interact, Zia won't forget someone he talks to a, poetic mind, philosophical, thoughtful, adventurous, tells jokes, interested in global culture and helpful. Tenzin Nosong described Zia as: likes to joke, good companion and great friend, knows how to study, interactive, very intelligent, religious and real...... middle of paper......t about him and probably fill a good amount of pages. To try to explain most of him I have to give snippets. Take the time to read the interviews and you will notice aspects of Zia that I may have missed. He is a complex person and does not have a simple mentality. He is a normal person who has great qualities. I will end this section with a quote: “[at] the end of the day you realize that someone from Pakistan is no different than someone from Rwanda or someone from Minnesota or you, or the names of the other places. . . . It's a blessing and an opportunity to meet people like Zia. I think they are the ones helping to change all the misinformation that is continually fed to us. (Cyusa)Works CitedCyusa, Alex.
