Topic > Should excessive snow days be compensated for? - 666

Do you know that to complete a year of school in case of a snow day we have to go to June 30th? We have had about nine snow days, which means the last day of school will be June 20th with more snowstorms scheduled in the future. Since this would be the last day of school, that means we will only have about two months of summer vacation before school starts again. Snow days should not be made up because they would interfere with people's summer plans, our summer would have to be longer, and there would be transportation issues. One of the most significant reasons is that in some places the plans may interfere with snow recovery days. The first reason is that some people go away all summer. If, for example, they canceled their plans, it would cause significant disruption. Second, some people book vacations months or even years in advance. For example, for Disney Cruise Lines they require you to book a year in advance to reserve the perfect vacation. This would be a big obstacle if their children went to school. Third, this causes families to lose money. People who have to cancel their plans will only be compensated for part or none of what they paid. For example, if they booked a trip on Disney Cruise Lines, they would only be compensated for the partial amount paid and the deposit paid will not be returned. Interfering with people's plans is a significant consequence, as is the length of summer holidays. Another significant reason is that summer holidays need to be longer. The main reason for this is that children need time to rest and relax before they have to go back to school. For example, during the summer children relax and prepare for school, if... middle of paper... that's where they have to go. This causes children to arrive late, the times ranging from forty-five minutes to two hours, assuming the bus arrives. All of these are important concerns, interference with summer plans, the length of our summer and the condition of the roads are significant concerns. I know you think we have to complete one hundred and eighty days to have a complete school year, but in the last few weeks of school we learn nothing. And during and after snow days we are required to make up for all the work we would have done on those snow days. So it makes no sense to go on for the whole one hundred and eighty days. In conclusion, snow days should not be made up for because they would interfere with summer plans, length of summer vacations and transportation issues. It would therefore be more beneficial for everyone if the snow days did not have to be made up.
