This is to better ensure the safety and efficiency of the air traffic control system and reduce operational costs such as maintenance costs. ASR – 11 is used to detect weather conditions, up to 6 intensity levels for adverse weather conditions and positioning of aircraft near commercial and military airports. Through the National Weather Service's six-level calibrated meteorological capability, both pilots and controllers have improved situational awareness. The ASR-11 is highly modular and is easy to reconfigure. Through the use of superfluous subsystems with integrated test equipment, it is intended for automatic operations. Furthermore, it is fully controllable and can monitor from various locations.2.
