Love comes in all shapes, sizes and entities. Okay, so it's not your typical horror movie theme. Except those who say scary movies can't be touching. Mama made its debut in 2013. It was directed by Andy Muschietti. The cast included Jessica Chastain, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Megan Charpentier and Daniel Kash. The main conflict of this film was that Mom, a psychotic woman entity, took the children and claimed them as her own. One morning a father takes his two young daughters with him to a cabin in the woods. As the girls looked out the window, their father pulled out a gun. He intended to kill both of his children and then shoot himself. Before he could pull the trigger, he was engulfed in black smoke and disappeared. That was mom. The two girls were alone in the woods. Or at least that's what they thought. Mother took care of them. He kept them as his own. Eventually the children are rescued and sent to live with their uncle. Mother terrorized the family. She didn't want anyone to take her girls away from her. When she was alive she was an unhealthy, psychotic woman named Edith. Edith had a physical deformity. Edith escaped from the asylum, stabbed a nun and stole the baby she was holding. The film's audience now suspects that the child was his. Edith runs away with the baby. She is chased through the forest. Edith is cornered. His only choice is to jump off a cliff into a lake. During the descent the child hit a branch and died instantly. Edith survived. The mom who claims those two girls is her way of getting her baby back. Identifying the protagonist and antagonist in this film is difficult. I think mom is both the protagonist and the antagonist. To most people it's obvious that she is the antagonist. He's trying to... middle of the paper... ull. The same goes for music. Happy music in happy scenes, sad music in sad scenes, and scary music in scary scenes. Wardrobe is another important factor. Annabel wore dark clothing and a lot of dark makeup. From this you could understand his personality and his image as a punk rocker. The makeup in the movie was amazing. I had no idea that Mom was played by a man. They managed to make this man look completely like a woman. A deformed woman, however, but still a woman. So overall, I thought it was a good movie, even if it left some questions unanswered. I like that it wasn't predictable. I always find horror films to be predictable. Like if he goes to the basement, he'll die. Mama was a mysterious film, a film that you had to try to understand as you went along. It was a big puzzle. If you like movies like that, I would recommend Dream House or The Cabin in the Woods.
