The company I chose to research for my company profile is located in Francesca's Clothing Store. Francesca's is a boutique-like store that contains several women's fashion trends ranging from clothing, jewelry and shoes. Francesca also offers specialty items and gifts that include candles, wall art, and gag gifts (Coltrin, 2010). The reason I chose Francesca's for this project is because this store interests me. I started shopping at this store when I was about sixteen. The shop quickly became very popular with me and my friends as it offered something we had never seen before; boutique items at reasonable prices. Francesca's is becoming increasingly popular among women of all ages who are looking for unique and fashionable items without spending a fortune. It all started in 1999 when Francesca's first opened its doors in Houston, Texas (Coltrin, 2010). Looking at the name of this new fashion boutique, one might assume that the person behind it all is called Francesca. This would, however, be far from the truth. The company was not founded by a girl named Francesca as many might assume. In fact, Francesca's was founded by three brothers and a dear friend. The three brothers, Chong Yi, Kyong Gill, Insuk Koo and their friend John De Meritt are the four names behind Francesca's (Oursler, September 2012). John De Meritt served as president, as well as CEO of Francesca until his recent retirement in 2012 ("John de meritt"). However, John De Meritt is not the only co-founder to have recently retired from Francesca.
