Today's generation of children and adults should be wary of the potential dangers of social media and texting. Originally, social media websites had the potential to help people stay connected. Using social networking sites, texting, messaging sites, and other forms of mobile technology to interact socially is social media (Stephens). Additionally, SMS has always been a useful tool in emergencies, but people have become increasingly irresponsible. In recent years, social media and texting have been shown to be dangerous for relationships, create unwanted attention, and go a long way in making people ignore the harmful effects of their actions. As more and more people are drawn into the world of social media, many feel as if their partners are "here in the body, but there in the mind." Facebook can potentially put a strain on relationships. In The Futurist, columnist Arnold Brown shares his beliefs about society slowly moving away from “reality” and instead integrating into this virtual world. The Internet has changed traditional forms of interaction (Brown 29). Facebook, a popular social media site, was originally designed to keep us in touch with our past, but some memories, or better yet people, should remain in the past. Social media “creates, strengthens, and weakens social bonds in various ways” (Brown 31). For example, when you accept a friend request from an old high school crush, it can easily turn into instant messaging, texting, and, before you know it, emotional infidelity, because without face-to-face interactions, the betrayal becomes more complicated and more difficult. define. With Instagram, special moments shared between partners are almost ruined. As I constantly take a photo... in the center of the paper... Brown, Arnold.
