Homosexuality expresses the desire for the same respect, love, and commitment shared in committed heterosexual relationships today. Over time, sexuality has been relegated to the forefront, both by government and religion. The strict limits imposed on what homosexuals can and cannot do are destroying their lives. There is a constant desire for acceptance among those who are against same-sex love, which decreases the willingness for equal rights among homosexuals. Homosexuals are no different from ordinary people, they just have different sexual preferences. With all the ridiculous rumors and strong ignorance of the people, the homosexual population is looked down upon. The laws prohibit homosexuals from being able to fully express their love through marriage. There are shared feelings between homosexual couples and heterosexual couples, so it would be unfair to say that homosexual love is not true love. Donald DeMarco claims that love is something that is only meant for a man and a woman. The lines of love are being drawn and many doors are being closed to show complete ignorance. Love should be a personal option and not something that should be labeled by a particular person, book, or idea. Love is a universal feeling shared among people all over the world. This concept should not be accessible only to heterosexuals and it is unfair to say that a homosexual relationship fails to express true love. Donald DeMarco explains that “Augustine taught that it must be consistent with the love of God.” God is known to love all people, regardless of their race, heritage, actions, behaviors, emotions, and background. If homosexuality is truly seen as a sin, then God... middle of paper... gets to call their relationships love is diminishing. Equality should be present regardless of sexual preferences.
