There are fifty-one states in the United States of America. Each of them differs from the other. Indeed, the role and type of government of each state is varied and unique. When comparing two states, California and Texas, there are obviously differences and similarities between them. California is a state located on the West Coast with a rich and diverse landscape. Nowadays, California reflects the entire complex of problems related to the development of the economic and political life of a country. Meanwhile, Texas is a southern state with a flat landscape and a growing economy. Studying each of these states separately, research shows that Texas and California differ in their tax systems and welfare programs, but are similar in their education systems and crime rate levels. Today, the sales tax in Texas is 6.25%, which automatically places Texas in the ranking of states with the highest sales tax rate. Additionally, the city and county may impose an additional 2% sales tax (Champagne 317). Likewise, California has a sales tax of 7.5%, which is considered a high rate, as does Texas. To conclude, California and Texas are constantly compared. Clearly, they have differences and similarities with each other. The welfare and tax systems differ, when the level of crime and the education system are similar. California is a beautiful place with a perfect climate located on the coast of the Pacific Ocean and numerous attractions that attract tourists from all over the world. Meanwhile, Texas doesn't have good weather or beautiful places to attract visitors. However, California is to visit, Texas is to experience.
