The Tattoo ControversyI was wondering why tattoos are a point of controversy in our society! There are people against it and people who really like tattoos, but who is right? Should I think this is good or bad? Perhaps for tattoo artists the art involved is worth the pain and sacrifice of getting tattooed. For religious people, it is a sin to sacrifice one's body for such an insignificant purpose. Now I don't think there are any excuses to justify such a drastic way of making art, but by analyzing the points of view I will try to clarify some questions that I still have regarding this body art such as the reason why people get tattoos: "When was the tattoo born? start?”, the dangers involved in this procedure, the removal of a tattoo and society's reaction towards tattooed people. Thinking that it's strange to have a needle penetrate your body several times just to make a drawing, I don't think it's worth it. So why do people have tattoos? Why is this commonplace nowadays? Probably because people see that the tattoo is a way of expressing themselves, but the real motivation for acquiring it varies between groups and cultures. It marks thoughts, opinions, memories... Some people get tattoos as a means of affirming their personal identity or sexual orientation. Tattoos can be a testament to feelings of love, they have been associated with rites of passage and identification with groups. Nowadays, tattoos are used for some cosmetic medical procedures and permanent makeup applications, according to the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences website. Some women seek out facial tattooing as a method of permanent adornment that reduces the need for cosmetics, which can be helpful when, for example, impaired vision compromises the ability to apply makeup. Talking to a friend who really likes bodysuit art, Manoela Cunha, said: “I like tattoos because they make me feel “the one”! There is no one else in the world like me, it's a way of identifying." And he adds: "It's not a rebellion of thoughts, it's simply something I like and I don't really care about the judgment of others." She said it's not painful, none of her 3 tattoos and piercing hurt, and she plans to get more. Analyzing the past, I see that it is not a recent thing. I once read the frequently asked questions on a website
