Charles Dickens, the British author from the southwestern English town of Land Port in Port Sea, was a very famous and well-known author in his time. As an author he has traveled to many cities. During his travels he had many children. Some of his books include: Oliver Twist, A Tale of Two Cities, David Copperfield and A Christmas Carol. The book, Oliver Twist, was about a boy growing up in hard times as an orphan who struggled trying to find his way in life. Also, what most people don't know is that the movie Oliver and Company has a relationship with the book Oliver Twist. The plot of the film centers on a cat, who is homeless, looking for a family to live with and call home. The cat in the film spends some of his life living with dogs, who become his most secret family. Charles Dickens was born on February 7, 1812, to John and Elizabeth Barrow Dickens. He was the second eldest of eight children. His father John Dickens was a clerk in the Navy pay office and his mother Elizabeth Dickens was an attractive and highly educated woman. (Swisher 13) As Charles grew up, his mother taught him to read. His father saw him as a future genius and made him sit in a high chair and tell stories to his office colleagues. In 1814 his father John was temporarily sent to the London office to work as a clerk. During this period, Dickens attended Williams Giles' school as a child. Growing up he had many responsibilities which included attending school, college and at the same time holding down a professional job. His parents' income started to slow down. Charles' father decided to move and settle the family in a town called Camden in 1822 to accommodate their minimal finances. The city was the poo... in the center of the paper... demonstrating Charles' intense passion for displaying realism in his writings of life experiences. After the writings of A Tale of Two Cities, he also wrote, Great Expectations in 186I, on which you feel sorry for yourself the sad sense of the Lower Thames. In 1864 he also wrote Our Mutual Friend, in which the mud and filth of Rotherhithe, its boatmen and its moccasins are passed through the book with enormous consequences. Charles Dickens' writings made him very famous. He used his colorful life experience to express emotional textures in his writings. The success achieved by the British author through his writings helped him overcome his personal tragedies. Charles faced many difficult obstacles, but he always overcame them, no matter how rocky the road. Today Charles is still not forgotten as his famous books live forever and can be read by many generations.
