Topic > Homosexual Relationships - 1163

What has the world come to? This introduces the clarity and resolution of the civil union of three groups, traditionalists and liberals. The three groups have different views on same-sex relationships, but all use a Christian view on the topic. Liberals and traditionalists have been divided over deep-seated opinions on same-sex relationships. The understanding is that the groups will never reach an agreement on the issue, but people hope to find a way to live together. Without a doubt this problem is causing division in churches and society. The most neutral group is the civil union, it offers a more open-minded argument and shows both sides of the story. Marriage is something understood in the Bible and followed by much of today's society. All groups have strong views, but they all have different perspectives on the issue of homosexuals and same-sex marriage. In this section you will read the liberal opinion on the issue of same-sex relationships. Liberals are more sensitive to the reality of same-sex partners than traditionalists because they believe the Church should, boldly, allow same-sex couples to have committed relationships. “The Church should encourage same-sex couples to view the discipline of a lifelong committed relationship as a fulfillment of God's calling” (Ward p.3). Liberals are more vulnerable that the church might have a mission for same-sex couples. “There is a sense of exciting theological exploration, a pilgrimage into a brave new world” (Ward p.1). The author of the article claims to be “more comfortable with the liberal perspective” (Ward p.2). The Bible states that “it is not expedient for [human] man to be alone.” If this is what the Bible says, then… middle of the paper… benefits for some same-sex sexual partners and spouses. Issues surrounding same-sex marriage have been going on for some for years now and the acceptance of homosexuals in society. Homosexuals hope that one day they can be accepted not only by people but also by the church. They don't want to live there all their lives thinking about whether they will go to hell or heaven. This problem will continue to be present in society for years to come and I could never truly see gay people being accepted by the church because of what the Bible says and the history behind it. It has already been said enough that the Churches actually talk about this topic because years ago this topic could not concern the Christian world. The Bible has all the power over this problem and until they can overcome it they will continue to live under the same inequalities and respect in this world.
