IntroductionFrom its humble beginnings in Dublin in 1969, Primark, trading under the name of Penneys in Ireland, has quickly become a fashion phenomenon with 270 stores spread across nine European countries. Owned by Associated British Foods, Primark has come a long way in Europe establishing itself as a high-end brand with a potent dose of affordable, trendy clothes that appeal to men, women and teenagers. As often compared to the Swedish clothing giant, retailer H&M Primark (Ireland) is now looking to venture into the Asian market by opening its first flagship store in Singapore, one of the main fashion hubs in Asia.
