Topic > Field Trip: Nature's Classroom - 845

It was early in the morning when the overwhelmingly ecstatic seventh grade class was excited and ready to go on an amazing trip to Ivoryton, Connecticut for "Nature's Classroom." Nature's Classroom was a sleepaway camp in Ivoryton, about two hours from Kew-Forest. In this camp students experience great knowledge of nature, learn to respect each other and work together as a team. I dragged my suitcase and other bags to the main rotunda of our school. I had seen my excited friends, ready with all their suitcases to leave for this five-day trip; the area was full of joy and cheer from the journey! For me it wasn't the first time we had the opportunity to participate in an overnight trip. Last year, when I was in sixth grade, we had been at this same field for three days. The same goes for this year's sixth grade. Unfortunately, however, my best friend, Nicolas, was unable to participate in the sixth grade trip due to an untimely illness. However, this time he was definitely ready to participate in this wonderful trip to Ivoryton, Connecticut. The entire seventh grade class was anxiously waiting for the bus to arrive; we wished the bus had arrived earlier! After a short wait, the huge bus slowly parked near the curb. It towered very high in the air and looked amazing! However, the interior of the bus was really the most interesting feature of the bus. The seats were certainly fantastic; they were covered with a soft, lively and colorful carpet. We all placed our suitcases and bags on the side of the bus and were then asked to sit in the colorful and beautiful seats of the incredibly comfortable bus. We had… half the paper… the next day at Nature's Classroom. This daily routine had continued until Friday. By Friday I felt like the entire week had gone by like lightning and I wished this incredibly enjoyable week at Nature's Classroom could have lasted longer. We had eaten our last meals at Nature's Classroom and knew that this wonderful week at Nature's Classroom was coming to an end. Soon I found myself sitting, once again, on the bus's colorful padded seats. I had been thinking about how wonderful this week was and how much I enjoyed all the different activities we did together. I was filled with grief that the week had come to an end. However, I realized that even though the week seemed to go by so quickly, at least I had made the best of it, enjoying every single last second of the amazing adventure known as Nature's Classroom..
