The innovation of radio is one of mankind's greatest innovations. After KDKA's first broadcast station in Pittsburgh, the radio experienced several improvements in coverage area and technology. Since then, demand has increased significantly. The farmers of the cities and villages were enthusiastic about its use. It has become part of everyday life as a way to gain information about social, economic and political developments. Even today these services are diversifying qualitatively and quantitatively. Right now, the options for getting all these services from radio are challenged by information technology, especially the Internet. Americans today have more options for connecting and staying informed than many other countries. Even today, for some nations, the radio is not an easily available piece of furniture. Likewise, its use is in high demand in daily life. The role of radio in ancient and contemporary times is mainly that of information, advertising and entertainment. To begin with, the use of radio as a source of information can be seen in its news broadcast services. The prosperity of the 1920s was followed by the economic recession and widespread unemployment of the Great Depression, and radio provided a variety of low-cost information and entertainment programs (Longshore). Even today, politicians use the radio to reach their supporters. In the early 1920s the wealthy family owned the Radio; it was not easily accessible to the public. Naturally, some farmers have been challenged to buy it. Time and again it has become an indispensable piece of furniture for several reasons. For example, radio helped negotiate changing gender roles at a time when women were entering the workforce through the use of radio. Young people consider music and entertainment as free time activities. This seems like the next challenge for radio use. Radio must adopt new technologies to continue to exist. In general, the 1920s and contemporary use of radio are more or less the same, but the current technological development is becoming broad and deep. Therefore, there should be a better approach and advanced use of information technology to address the related concerns. Works Cited Populist Challenge. prod. Julia Dyer. Dallas TeleLearning, 2000.
