The idea that people who refuse to fight are cowards With so many wars going on in this century, it's hard to say who the real ones are cowards. Many people go to war and fight to protect their country, out of a feeling of pride and to feel that they have done their part to save the lives of others. However, many people choose not to fight. They can see that many problems can occur in the long term. They may have to destroy the life of another human being; they could face disability or even death. Additionally, people who believe that fighting in a war is morally wrong are called conscientious objectors. In this essay I will examine which choice, if any, is the cowardly one. Those who choose to fight do so out of a sense of patriotism and pride in their interests. Village. They return home to a hero, with new abilities and new friends. However, going to war traumatizes a soldier. For many years they can face nightmares about what they saw and whose life ended up in their hands. Many soldiers who fought became permanently disabled and battled depression. They may make new friends, only to see them die the next day. And sometimes, the attitude can be “for what?” It would take a lot of courage to find yourself in these situations. Those who choose not to fight also have good reasons not to. They can see the long term, with the nightmares and the disability, and they are afraid. Some of these people are the people who run the munitions factories. Some of these people are doctors who care for sick and wounded soldiers. However, these are the people who are seen as cowards. They are called na...... middle of the paper... exactly right. These are the people who run the munitions factories, producing the bullets and missiles that soldiers launch. These are the people who fly into highly dangerous situations to perform medevaks on a wounded soldier. These are the people who endure torture from society and are called wimps. In my opinion, those who say that conscientious objectors have no courage, these are the real cowards. They don't have what it takes to defend what they believe in. They are sheep and have no opinions of their own, they just follow the crowd. We must always honor and respect the soldiers who fought, and sometimes lost their lives, as they defended their country and did their part. No matter how someone reacts to the call of war, we must value their opinion and not discriminate against them for what they believe..
