At work I am a team leader, which means I am responsible to three of my colleagues for making sure all documentation is completed and filed and that all lesson plans are turned in in timely manner, all supplies are needed for the week, and any disciplinary issues that arise with children or co-workers are addressed. I have also held other leadership positions prior to this job, I was co-president of Mississippi College's Student Life chapter, and I am a campus leader at my church. I also possess a strong work ethic, no matter what; during my freshman year I took an intensive Honor's Block course and during that time my grandmother passed away. During my sophomore year, my father was diagnosed with cancer in both kidneys, and I was preparing to leave for my semester abroad by working three jobs to pay for expenses. Earlier this year I was sent to the emergency room three times and my roommate's mother died. Despite all of this, however, I always kept schoolwork as one of my top priorities and never dropped below a “B” in any class. I know that the academic education I receive here will last me a lifetime, but that trials are fleeting in the grand scheme of things.
