From the clubs of Britain to the garages of the United States, rock music has been and has been conquering the world for 60 years. He has always been a rebel in the music world, breaking all the rules and always taking unexpected turns. With that said, let's go back to where it all began, in the 1950s... Around the mid-1950s, a new type of music began to spread across the southern United States. This music was like no other, because it was not defined as just one type of music, but had elements of many different genres all combined into one, this music was called rock. Things in the 50s were good, so obviously the music should reflect the times. Rock in this era was known as Rockabilly, which is a blend of the words rock and hillbilly, and it started a great movement. This music had elements of rhythm and blues and also country and western, giving it a kind of nice rhythm that you could always listen to and dance to. The first major rock and roll single to reach the top of the Billboard charts was Bill Haley's "Rock Around the Clock" and it took off from there. The '60s were probably rock's heyday, because that's when it really started to expand and evolve. in all kinds of directions. The 1960s gave rise to blues-rock, folk rock, and psychedelic rock, not to mention the 1960s British invasion that swept the United States. Although it originated in the United States, Rock began to spread rapidly and it was only a matter of time before it reached Britain. Intrigued by the new style of music, bands began to appear here and there across England, and then along came the Beatles. The Beatles were the main leaders of the British invasion, storming the United States, capturing everyone's attention and leaving history's biggest mark on the world... middle of paper... involving percussion, and his screaming, hardcore voice has caught the attention of today's youth. All in all, rock has changed the way we see and hear music. It has survived through the ages and is still going strong today, letting nothing stand in its way. It's something I love and care about, because music isn't just something you listen to when you're bored or to pump yourself up, music is how we express ourselves, it's how we share who we are with the world. . Our generation faces so much negativity in the world, so many things that distract us from following the right path and making positive change in the world. It seems we've lost our cause, we've lost something to fight for, we wander lost and aimless, music gives me my purpose and reminds me that if we fight for nothing, we will fall at anything.
