It is the year 2014 and Richard Branson is one of the richest men in the world. For the past 20 years, Mr. Branson has worked to become a world-renowned businessman who defies the odds of all traditional business and attributes all of his success to his effective leadership, which raises the inherent question: What has he done Sir Branson to be an effective leader?Background InformationSir Richard Branson was born on July 18, 1950 in Surry, England. At a young age, what was most significant in Branson's childhood was his struggle with dyslexia and difficulties in educational institutions. He was born into a humble middle class family which placed him in the world of work. It was Branson's educational difficulties that allowed him to persevere in athletics. By the time he got to high school he was captain of his school's football team and was very sociable. He soon discovered that his academic problems were due to dyslexia.
