Several novels were published during the Romantic era, but Mary Shelley published her most famous novel Frankenstein. His novel was very mysterious because it was very tied to his personal life and his difficulties in the period in which he was writing Frankenstein. Before starting to write her story she was inspired by Lord Byron. One night she and a group of friends who had gathered one night decided to tell scary stories and see who had the scariest story and would win. That night, after everyone had fallen asleep, Shelley had a long nightmare about a monster he had created when he woke up the next morning, he decided to write that nightmare as a story. Shelley was born in London, England on 30 August 1797 at the age of 19. she married another poet Percy Bysshe Shelley. Shelley had a passion for writing and wrote stories to her father every night before falling asleep. Shelley had a very difficult childhood after her mother's death. Not long after her mother's death, her father remarried and she did not get along with her stepmother or stepsister. She was encouraged by her father who was a liberal social political views and theories. She soon became annoyed and frustrated by her stepmother's mistreatment. When she got married she became pregnant by her husband, her father refused to help her and not to mention her half-sister and stepmother. Her husband, Percy, doesn't seem to want to be with Shelley. Shelley's life was marked by many deaths, including the deaths of her children. After focusing on something to distract her from her depression, she focused on the novel Frankenstein she is writing. Frankenstein is made up of several literary elements, the novel begins with the creation of...... middle of the card.... ..the victor and the monster come to life. Another theme was individual versus society, it showed that when Victor first created the monster, he thought about himself and his own individual curiosity and greed before considering what the monster could do to society. It initially seemed like a selfish, self-empowerment plan, which ultimately backfired. The structure of this theme made it a little difficult to understand some situations. Some situations end with an epiphany. This novel portrays Man against himself because Victor created the monster due to his selfish reasons and curiosities. The monster eventually killed his loved ones, which backfired on his own creation. What started as a summer trip and writing contest ended with the creation of an animal labeled a monster who sought revenge on the people who caused his loneliness and isolation.
