Labor Abuse in China“Inside the factory, amid noisy machinery and clouds of sawdust, men without earplugs or protective glasses feed wood with screaming electric saws, building stereo speaker cabinets” (Goodman and Overview 1). In the article Chinese Workers Pay for Wal-Mart's Low Prices by Peter Goodman and Philip Pan, the mistreatment of migrant workers in China is evident. These types of behaviors are happening everywhere in China. The abuse of China's labor force has reached terrible proportions and created illegal conditions due to China's demanding economy and need for other countries' goods; however, companies that are based in China are working to ensure that their workers are treated fairly. The abuses of Chinese workers have reached exceptional proportions and have caused terrible working conditions for most workers in China. Many migrant workers face an increasing number of problems at work. On a normal work day they may find themselves in a dimly lit and cramped workplace (Goldman 2). The factories they work in have little space to ensure adequate performance on a daily basis. Most of these factories are also poorly ventilated when harmful chemicals are used (Goldman 1). Often without adequate safety equipment such as glasses or earphones, workers feel at risk of serious injury. Additionally, they may be exposed to chemicals or substances without proper masks. In the future these workers will have serious health conditions because of this (Small 1). Constantly working in these conditions is not ideal. Working like this on a daily basis has caused burnout and even death on the job (Goldman 3). Clearly the people who work... middle of paper... have problems and are trying to do what's best for the workers. There are many migrant workers in China in poor conditions where the factories are poorly lit and very cramped. Many of these atrocious conditions are caused by the government's poor enforcement of labor laws. Although there are many companies that are starting to take a turn for the better by monitoring the work area. There are also other groups of people who seek to abolish these actions. If you want to participate in destroying these actions against workers, then you should join an activist group that is working to do so. Many people out there are joining groups and are improving conditions. With continued action by workers and activists, the government will finally realize that these conditions are not fair and must be changed forever..
